This growth of data has not only lead to the growing number of biological databases but has also imposed the needs for additional and more sophisticated computational techniques to proficiently manage, store and retrieve these data, as well as to competently help gaining biological insights and To meet the growing demand of knowledge and skills in this area Chalmers University of Technology has started an International Master's of Science Programme in Bioinformatics. The first group of students began their studies on the programme in August 2000. Tutorial¶.
